Voyage of Light

Voyage of Light captures an aerial view of a yacht in motion, its sleek form cutting across the canvas with quiet grace. I only show half of the vessel, which is a deliberate composition choice to draw the audience into the scene, piquing curiosity about what might lie just beyond the frame. The sun shining from the upper left bathes the yacht in warmth while casting deep shadows across the surrounding sea, heightening the sense of forward movement.

Through this balance of light and shadow, and stillness and motion, the painting is about the awe and majesty of grand oceanic journeys. My hope is that the audience can almost feel the warm sun on their backs and hear the rhythmic heartbeat of the water on the hull.
