Folded Realities

Vibrant origami-inspired structures at the intersection of mathematics, illusion and sculptural art.

Rooted in geometry and inspired by the natural world, these works explore the space between invention and discovery. Folded forms emerge from mathematical systems but often feel organic, intuitive, and alive. Existing simultaneously as flat pictures, sculptural objects, and geometric abstractions, they challenge simple distinctions between two- and three- dimensional form.

This series explores a question that has fascinated me since childhood: are mathematical models inventions of the human mind, or do they come embedded within the natural world waiting to be discovered?

To bridge the two sides of this question, the color palettes in this series are intentionally drawn from real environments. What initially appears as a study of geometry leads into a celebration of the structures that underpin both.
